Community Midwives run antenatal clinics each Wednesday afternoon in Kircubbin by appointment only and also Monday mornings in Portavogie Community Centre.

Nurse Louanne Birch Community Nursing Rapid Response Service

The district nurses provide nursing care in the home for those patients unable to come to the surgery.  They are closely involved in the provision of care to terminally ill patients being cared for at home.  If you need to contact a nurse please ring this surgery or you may be referred by a hospital referral.  There are a number of services these nurses can provide, including:

  • Palliative Care
  • Post-operative Care
  • Terminal Care
  • Wound Care 
  • Rehabilitation 
  • Flu injections
  • Stoma Care
  • General Nursing Care
  • Continence Assessment
  • Dementia Support Chronic
  • Acute illness  Screening

Macmillan Nurses work alongside doctors, nurses and other professionals to meet the needs of patients suffering from cancer.  They help the patients and their carers achieve the best possible quality of life.  Requests for a Macmillan Nurse should be made via a GP, district nurse or other medical professional.
